Robert has over 20 years’ experience of advising on regulatory and competition law matters. He advises clients across all regulated sectors, with a particular focus to date on telecoms, postal services and digital markets.
His practice includes advising clients on disputes, investigations, and compliance; consumer protection policy and enforcement matters; and telecoms market reviews, market studies and competition market investigations.
He has considerable litigation experience in the Court of Appeal and the Competition Appeal Tribunal, including regulatory appeals and competition damages actions, as well as experience handling regulatory price control appeals before the Competition and Markets Authority.
Robert has worked closely with government, regulators and international agencies, including on implementing EU telecoms laws in the UK, and on revising the legislative and regulatory rulebooks post-Brexit.
Robert qualified as a solicitor in 2002. Prior to joining Towerhouse he was a lawyer at Ofcom for over ten years and before that worked in private practice, in-house for a telecoms operator and as a referendaire (judicial assistant) at the Competition Appeal Tribunal.
Robert graduated from Nottingham University in 1998 with a BA in Law with European Law. He also spent a year studying at the University of Valencia and obtained a Post-Graduate Diploma in competition law from King’s College London.
