Helen is an experienced competition and regulatory lawyer, with experience of advising clients in the electronic communications, energy, water, financial, aviation, post and health care sectors.

Since joining Towerhouse, Helen has been involved in several cases before the Competition & Markets Authority, Competition Appeal Tribunal, Administrative Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.

Most recently, Helen was a core member of the team that brought Centrica’s successful judicial review against the default tariff cap imposed in the energy sector at the Administrative Court, and was the lead associate on the TalkTalk and Vodafone’s recent challenge against certain elements of Ofcom’s decision regarding the Business Connectivity Market Review at the CAT.

Helen has spent time on secondment at FTSE 100 companies, including at an energy company where she acted as in-house counsel for the competition department, which involved advising the business on a range of competition and commercial issues.

Helen also has extensive experience with advising clients on consumer protection, compliance issues and public policy matters; responding to, and engaging with, investigations by National Regulatory Authorities; drafting, and negotiating, wholesale service agreements for clients (including as part of formal contract reviews of regulated contracts with Openreach and BT Wholesale); and, responding to consultations from National Regulatory Authorities and Government departments.

Helen graduated from Warwick University in 2010 after studying towards a Bachelor in Laws. The following year she completed her post graduate qualification at the College of Law, obtaining a distinction. Helen joined Towerhouse in 2012 and qualified as a solicitor in June 2014.
