Aminah is a Trainee Solicitor at Towerhouse (having joined the firm as a Paralegal in September 2017) and has been gaining experience in all the practice areas offered by the firm.

In particular, Aminah has been involved in ongoing matters at the Competition Appeals Tribunal, High Court and Court of Appeal; advising clients in relation to Ofcom consultations; assisting clients in understanding the nature of cross-sectoral regulation; and providing assistance to the members of UKCTA through her previous role within the UKCTA Secretariat.

Since joining Towerhouse Aminah has worked on the following cases:

  • Hutchinson 3G UK v Ofcom; British Telecommunications v Ofcom [2017] EWHC 3376 (Admin) (5G Spectrum Auction): acting for interveners in their judicial review claim against Ofcom’s decision to set a cap on the amount of spectrum any Mobile Network Operator can acquire.
  • EE Limited v Ofcom [2017] EWCA Civ 1873 (Annual Licence Fees): acting for interveners in a successful Court of Appeal claim against Ofcom’s decision to raise annual licence fees for mobile spectrum.
  • Vodafone Limited v Ofcom [2019] EWHC 1234 (Comm): acting for claimant in a successful Part 8 restitution claim. Following the Court of Appeal’s decision which found Ofcom to have unlawfully raised annual licence fees, the claimant brought a case against Ofcom to recover certain payments made towards the annual licence fees.
  • Royal Mail PLC v Office of Communications and Whistl UK Limited [2019] CAT 19: acting for the intervener in Royal Mail’s appeal against Ofcom’s decision which found Royal Mail to have abused its dominant position in the bulk delivery market.

Aminah graduated from Queen Mary, University of London in 2015 after studying towards a Bachelor in Laws.  The following year she completed her post graduate qualification at the University of Law, obtaining a Commendation.
