Policy & Competition in Healthcare
We advise on issues relating to competition law and policy in the health sector. In England and Wales, we advise on general competition law and issues relating to economic regulation, as well as mergers, provider licensing and rules for commissioners. We are experienced at representing clients before NHS Improvement and the Competition and Markets Authority.
We can help clients to navigate the regulatory regime for health care, whether as providers or commissioners. We understand that choice and competition in the NHS raise complex questions. The sector is undergoing structural change, with mergers and service re-organisations requiring careful assessment. Clients seek us out because they expect their lawyers to be alive to that complexity. We help our clients work co-operatively with other parts of the NHS and, whilst doing so, to advance their institutional objectives in a way that helps them to work to achieve better outcomes for patients, in keeping with the long-established values of the NHS.
