Regulation plays an increasingly significant role in the transport sector. The sector is under scrutiny, resulting in significant political focus, and regulatory risk. The industry structure means that the regulators – the Civil Aviation Authority and the Office of Rail and Road – have significant influence over the success and profitability of operators and investors in the sector.
We have considerable direct working knowledge and understanding of the legal framework for aviation and rail. We have also spent considerable time dealing with DfT (for example, over the passage of the Civil Aviation Act 2012) and the transport regulators.
