Helen joined Towerhouse as a Paralegal in April 2012, and has since trained and qualified as a solicitor with the firm. Since joining Towerhouse, Helen has gained vast experience of competition and regulatory law. She has advised in the electronic communications, energy, water, aviation, post and health care sectors.
During her time at Towerhouse, Helen has been extensively involved in ongoing litigation at the Competition Appeal Tribunal, Administrative Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court; advised clients on responding to consultations from Ofcom, Ofgem, Ofwat, the Civil Aviation Authority, Law Commission, Phone-paid Services Authority, Competition and Markets Authority, and Government departments such as BIS and DCMS; provided advice to a range of clients on consumer protection, compliance issues and public policy matters; assisted clients being investigated by National Regulatory Authorities; and, participated in a number of telecommunications contract reviews and negotiations with Openreach and BT Wholesale.
More recently, Helen was the lead associate on TalkTalk’s successful appeal to the CMA on Ofcom’s recent BCMR price control. She also spent time on secondment to a FTSE 100 energy company acting as in-house counsel for the competition department, which involved advising the business on a range of competition and commercial issues.
Helen graduated from Warwick University in 2010 after studying towards a Bachelor in Laws. The following year she completed her post graduate qualification at the College of Law, obtaining a distinction. Helen qualified as a solicitor in June 2014.
